Based in Central Scotland, Losferwords are a live 5 piece band who were formed 16 years ago in Lanark by the original
band members, Mark (Rocket) Reilly on lead vocals, and Vinny (Van-Halen) Keenan on guitar. A few years later, the band
was further enhanced by the arrival of Craig Rolls, on keyboards, and the present line-up was finalised by the arrival of the
experienced rhythm section, Stevie ( Big Ginger ) Smith on drums, and "Funky" Duncan Tolmie on Bass Guitar
Over the years, The Wurds have played at top venues across the country, and have also played at functions for various
celebrities from the world of sport and showbiz.
We pride ourselves with the fact that we are an “all live” band, which is enhanced by our top quality P.A. system (Nexo for
all you muso’s), which is operated by our sound engineer. To compliment our professional sound, we have stunning lighting
system which puts the finishing touch to our superb show.
Our wide and varied repertoire means that we are able to ensure all tastes in music are accommodated, which is why we
are able to play at various functions, from Weddings, private parties, corporate events and social clubs. On occasion, we
also take the time out to lay on concert style gigs at the Lanark Memorial Hall, whereby we invite other bands to join us
to play at this excellent venue, which in the past years has always been a huge success.
Our band believes in giving the public a night to remember, no matter the occasion, and audience participation is always
assured due to entertaining style of our front man, Mark who is guaranteed to get every crowd singing and dancing
along - and if your lucky (or unlucky!), he might even get you to sing along with the band, as he roams venue looking for a
willing victim.
Mark’s incredible vocal range has to be heard to be believed, and it’s his versatility that enables us to play such a wide
range of music, which isn’t just restricted to male vocalist.
This vocal ability coupled by a wealth of musical talent, is what makes Losferwords one of the most exciting and respected
bands in the business
